Theresa (Short) Murphy

Ms. Theresa Ann (Short) Murphy, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, having attained the age of 61 years, 2 months, and 27 days. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday, August 1, 1965, the daughter of Willie Short & Judy (Mosby) Spears. She was of the Baptist faith, a member of Mt. Zion Hill Baptist Church, and had worked as a clerk for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned an associate degree. She enjoyed fishing and watching her boys play ball. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Short.

She is survived by her mother, Judy Spears; sons, Joshua (& Kelci) Murphy, Jordan Murphy, both of Bowling Green, Kentucky; siblings, Tony (& Julie) Short of New Albany, Indiana, Gail (& Cal) Levitt of Dallas, Texas; half-sister, Amanda Hogan of Indiana; along with many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 1:00 pm CST in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Todd Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm CST until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Dutch Creek Cemetery, in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
